Here at Land Rover Birmingham we think it is safe to say that most drivers in the area have gone a while without seeing a snow flurry or a sheet of black ice across a freezing road way. That doesn't mean that your new Land Rover vehicle should not be ready to handle extreme conditions if and when you run across them. That is why we are pleased to tell you that Jaguar Land Rover has just opened a new cold-weather testing facility in northern Minnesota.
From the original Land Rover built for use by the Ministry of Defense in the UK, to the 2012 Range Rover Evoque, owners of our Sport Utility Vehicles demand nothing but the upmost performance. No matter if they are on safari across the Serengeti or running out to the store to pick up some spaghetti, Land Rover is there to deliver.
This new testing site is located in International Falls, Minnesota. If you have never heard of it before, that is probably because it is in the middle of nowhere along the U.S. and Canadian border. It is one of the coldest locations in the continental U.S. with temperatures sometimes reaching -55 degrees Fahrenheit. Heavy snows and several different road surfaces allow designers and engineers of the Land Rover to ensure peak performance in all weather conditions. There is even a frozen lake for proving traction and handling on pure ice.
