Here at Land Rover Birmingham we are constantly on the lookout for the lasts scraps of Land Rover related news from around the internet. So we were very interested when we recently intercepted an interesting tidbit from Autocar. The folks over there seem to be convinced that to models from the current lineup of new Land Rover vehicles could get special RS versions created some time in the next year.
For those who don't know, the RS label essentially means that it has an extra dose of performance and power stacked on. We like to think that all the current models are perfect just the way they are, but we know that drivers in the Tuscaloosa and Alabaster areas love getting the maximum amount of performance possible from their cars and SUVs.
Rumor has it that the Range Rover Evoque could receive an RS version which would be able to access 300 horsepower variation of the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. Naturally any upgrade to the powertrain would also come with cool features like a body kit, larger wheels and updated headlights.
If the Evoque is going to get an RS performance model then the Range Rover Sport would need to get one too. We can't imagine how incredible this machine would be. A Range Rover Sport RS would need to expand on the current 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine and would likely get close to 542 horsepower which is in line with several Jaguar models.
You can be sure that we will keep you updated on this story as the months progress. In the meantime, you can busy yourself by visiting us at the Land Rover Birmingham showroom located at 3000 Tom Williams Way Irondale, AL 35210 and test driving any one of the models currently in our inventory.
