On road and off, in cold temperatures and hot, with the family or on your own, there's nothing better to get you where you're going than a new Land Rover vehicle. Right here at our Irondale, AL dealership, you'll find a plethora of models that can meet all your dynamic driving needs. But, today, we're here to discuss one special model's ability to take on the harshest of terrain.
Way over in the Middle East, there's a place of excessive temperatures and expansive open space; it's the Empty Quarter of the Arabian peninsula and it's one of the most extreme places on the planet. As the second largest desert in the world, temperatures soar to over 122 degrees Fahrenheit; it's not exactly a friendly and inviting environment.
However, it's no sweat for the Land Rover Range Rover Sport.
Setting out to achieve a record speed run over the desert, the Range Rover Sport started in Wadi Adda Wasir in Saudi Arabia and headed for the border with the United Arab Emirates, arriving for the start of the Dubai Motor Show. The whole journey, a distance of 527 miles, took 10 hours and 22 minutes. This, folks, is a new world record.
A short film about the trek will be coming out soon from the automaker, and we can't wait to see it for ourselves! Until then, why not stop by Land Rover Birmingham for yourself and check out a Land Rover for yourself? Our automotive gurus will help you find something incredible, matching your unique wants and needs. Proof of performance excellence is just a test drive away.
