If you would like to make the dream of any 11-17 year old kid come true then this is a blog post that you don't want to miss. Today Land Rover Birmingham is here to spread the word about our favorite SUV maker's new "Start Off-Road" program.
We all remember the first couple of times our parents gave us partial control of the car on a Sunday morning in an empty supermarket parking lot. We were nervous but excited as we completed some slow laps and practiced our parking. The "Start Off-Road" program from Land Rover takes that idea of a kid's first time behind the wheel to the next level.
Imagine being a kid again between the ages of 11 and 17 and being strapped in behind the wheel of a new Land Rover vehicle with miles of off-road terrain laid out in front of you. Well that's exactly what this program does, with the aid of special instructors trained to coach the young people on how to handle specific hazards they encounter.
The Land Rover vehicles used by the program are dual controlled so the instructors can take over if they have to, and they cover lessons like: water crossings, deep ruts, wet grass, crossing ditches, thick mud, climbing hills, descending hills, slalom skills, and basic steering and braking lessons.
We hope that programs like this will help create lifetime Land Rover lovers and instill a healthy sense of adventure in all kids fortunate to try the Start Off-Road Program. The bad news is that for now, the Program is limited to a single location in England, but hopefully we will see this program expanded to the U.S.
