When looking at photographs, it's easy to think that the 2023 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport are identical luxury SUVs. However, when sitting side-by-side, it immediately becomes clear that these are two different animals. At Land Rover Birmingham, we've pulled out the spec sheets to tell you how to differentiate between these new luxury SUVs.

Passenger Space

While both the 2023 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport seat five, there are clear differences in the amount of space both you and your passengers will have to work with. The bigger Range Rover offers nearly 40 inches of front leg room while the Sport model offers one inch less. Meanwhile, the back seat in the Range Rover Sport is three inches smaller than its larger sibling. Fortunately for taller drivers, headroom is similar in both luxury SUVs,

Cargo Space

It's in the cargo area where these two standout SUVs truly begin to separate. The Range Rover Sport gives you 27.5 cubic feet of space to stash your stuff. Meanwhile, the big brother offers over 40 cubic feet of space to work with. That difference in cargo area is what will fit into the trunk of a mid-size sedan, so the larger Range Rover is the one to have if you frequently take on extended road trips.

Performance

While the base engine in the bigger Range Rover does outstrip its little sibling, the lower weight of the Range Rover Sport makes it quicker off the line. At 500 pounds lighter and with a shorter wheelbase, the Range Rover Sport is the better choice for getting around the city.
